The bitumen division operates at the leading edge of binder and emulsion technology, fulfilling its own inhouse demands across Lagan companies while also being positioned as a market leader in the supply of quality products to the public sector, county councils and private contractors.

Over recent years the company has opened a new terminal at Dublin Port (2006) with a tankage capacity in excess of 10,000 tonnes and built a Polymer Modified Bitumen production facility in Dublin (2008) to enhance existing facilities in both Dublin and Port of Belfast. The company operates its own ship as well as an inhouse dedicated testing and quality laboratory.

The modern Lagan terminals receive cargoes of crude bitumen sourced from world markets which is then manufactured to a fine degree of accuracy as straight run and cut-back Bitumen.

Lagan Bitumen holds a range of accreditations including ISO 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, for Health and Safety, Environment and Quality respectively.
