Alpha Resource Management intends to develop a further three phases at the site at Mullaghglass.

Phase 2 was fully operational mid-2008. The construction of Phase 2B commenced October 2008 is due to be completed in April 2009.

These will be closely followed by the planning and development and construction of phase III and IV.

Mullaghglass site will have the capacity for 2 million tonnes of waste which equates to a life span of between 10 to 15 years.

At the end of its life the site will be fully restored in keeping with the local environment.

The Alpha Programme is funded through Landfill Tax Credits generated from the Mullaghglass site.

It invites groups within a ten mile radius of the site to apply for funding to improve or enhance their local community, amenities and countryside.

Since the scheme was launched in January 2008 numerous enquiries for funding have been made and the Company looks forward to seeing the local community benefit.

As of October 2008 community projects have received £160,000 in grants through the Alpha Project.
